Job Description

You’ll be part of the team responsible for bringing the ATLIS powertrain system from concept to production launch. Your team will create and implement all ALIS traction motors, control systems, and gear drive systems. You will be responsible for technical requirements, researching and developing solutions, selecting components and system level design – from requirements to design and development of the power stage and control of the drivetrain inverter.

Ultimately, you and your team will ensure we hit key milestones and bring massive value to the electric vehicle market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coming up with the requirements of the AMV drivetrain converter

  • Topology selection, component selection, simulation of the selected topology, efficiency calculation, schematics and layout design, prototype testing

  • Heavily involved in the motor controls development

  • Assume ownership of projects and execute with minimal oversight

  • Launch key technical milestones on-time and in-budget

  • Lead the development of the ATLIS powertrain system

  • Use Mechanical and Electrical skills to take electric motors, gearboxes, and drive systems from development to production

Ideally, you have experience with:

  • Creating 3 phase inverters

  • Designing DC to AC converters

  • High voltage greater than 300 volts DC

  • Able to design EMC circuits for converter mitigate issues such as common mode and normal mode noise.

  • Component selection in terms of inductor, capacitor, switching devices for 3 phase inverter topologies.

  • Simulation software such as Plecs or PSim

  • Schematic and PCB layout (high voltage power electronics layout)

  • Altium

  • Soldering surface mount and through hole

  • Microcontrollers

  • FOC

  • Leading high functioning teams

  • Building supplier relationships

and you’re someone who is:

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis on Power Electronics

  • Or 5+ years experience working on Power Electronics convertors

  • Collaborative leader

  • Organizer of chaos

  • Phenomenal meeting conductor

  • Excellent communicator

  • Creative & critical thinker

  • Self-starter who is willing to get their hands dirty

  • Team player who is excited by rapid development cycles
