JOB DESCRIPTION

The Automation Controls Engineer will be responsible for the design, component hardware and software selection for various automation projects. This candidate should be familiar with roll-to-roll converting systems, web guidance, and pick and place automation equipment. You should be a detailed oriented individual who understands equipment processes and should be able to organize and debug PLC logic accordingly.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop electrical and mechanical designs, schematics, and drawings in Inventor.
  • Lead the manufacturing team in automation solutions that maximize efficiency throughout all stages of development
  • Have a vast technical understanding of motion and motor controls, specifically in milling applications, converting systems, lamination systems, pick and place robotics, vacuum chambers and filling applications, and welding processes.
  • Must be a problem solver who can develop solutions, is a self-starter and team player.
  • Able to maximize work output by managing many different projects in parallel.
  • Must have experience with programming logic controllers (PLC) using Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, or related systems.
  • Must have the ability to research products and components related to manufacturing process and equipment scope of work.
IDEALLY, YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH:
  • Creative thinking, results and solution driven
  • Self-starter, positive attitude, and team focused
  • Willing to work in a fast-paced research and development environment
  • 4+ years of experience working with automation and or manufacturing equipment
  • Proficient in design and drafting software such as AutoCAD, Inventor, and SolidWorks
  • Educational experience related to automation and motion control applications.
  • Familiar with industry standards such as CE and UL.
